Senior Athens-Clarke County police officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian lost his life on March 22, 2011 while responding to a carjacking incident. Survived by his parents, wife Melissa and two young children, Officer Christian was a longtime community volunteer, completing countless hours of service at Hull Baptist Chur audi ch.
Deeply touched by the loss of Officer Christian, Heyward Allen Toyota, an Athens Toyota dealer, is currently raising money for Christian's family via Facebook. For every positive comment posted on the dealership's Facebook page, Heyward Allen Toy rc helicopter and car market place ota will donate $1 to the Buddy Christian Memorial Fund, a trust benefitting Christian's wife and children. The Athens Toyota dealer has set a goal of raising $10,000 for the fund and encourages everyone in the Athens community to get involved.
