PRLog (Press Release)– May 25, 2011– Carbon Auditing is a natural extension to businesses acura working in the construction and building sectors, but few realise the potential of this service. Understanding more about the auditing process and being able to pres corsa ent property owners with hard evidence on the costs for energy and the carbon footprint of their present heating/power systems is fundamental to the process, but there are more opportunities than supplying a one-off report worth a few hundred pounds.
Carbon Auditing provides businesses with an opportunity to sell new, carbon ef ferrari ficient technologies to thier clients, backed up with details of what savings are possible over existing systems, but also how long it takes to get 'a return on investments' when switching to low carbon technologies.
Many still believe that carbon auditing is only for those committed to environmental change - but low carbon technologies sector is a fundamental business growth area supported by local authorities and the Government. The auditing process is part of this burgeoning business opportunity.
Understanding the process is not difficult - with the right training. To help with this, Suscon, a sustainable construction training and research centre based in Dartford Kent, is running a series of one day courses starting from June 21.
A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO CARBON AUDITING FOR BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITIES is a low cost (£55+VAT) one day course that aims to give learners an introduction to the principles and practices behind energy and carbon auditing. Although it i auto part s aimed at anyone who occupies a building - be it a school, office, community centre or your home, the information will be of particular interest to those working in the trades, so they are able to offer low carbon solutions to property owners or occupiers.
The course includes practical ways of reducing energy running costs whilst reducing environmental impact and covers: * practical examples of monitoring, evaluating, re-representing and consolidating data; * the collating of results and formulating the presentation of data; * examples of energy and 1086274749 carbon audits; * typical audit calculations;* the completion of an outline carbon audit
The first of these one day courses is Tuesday, 21st June 2011 and then each month through to winter 2011. All the courses will run at the new, purpose built centre at The Bridge near Dartford, Kent.
More details are available on the course at the Suscon website ( www.suscon.org.uk ) or via the Eventbrite booking system ( http://carbonauditingsuscon.eventbrite.com )
