In Arabic with English subtitles.

Direct, poignant and gorgeous is the work in Scheherazade, Tell Me a Story.  The film connects the stories of "women constrained by long standing social  norms" dodge that make their lives very hard to live.   Hebba Younnis (Mona Zakki), as a TV show host, is the unifying link between three  different stories and the social context in which they are told as she embarks  on a journey of exploration of the life of women in Cairo.   Hebba has accepted, at the request of her opportunistic husband, to stay away  from political themed features on her TV show. She then decides to cover  "women's stories alfa romeo ." However, she finds out that these stories are more dramatic  and painfully real.   Mr. Nasrallah is among those artists whose art is at the service of a cause. With  a strong narrative, he proves to be an incredible story teller whose inquisitive  eye and remarkable ability to look at Egyptian women in particular highlights cadillac an  outstanding social commentary about the hardship of the human condition of  women in his native Egypt.

His film offers a very powerful social critique of a country that  is still making news today after the ousting of former President Hosni Mubarak.   Scheherazade,  Tell Me A Story was a success in  Egypt  when it was released in theaters and has won several international awards including  the Lina Mangiacapre Award at the Venice Film Festival. The film  remained for more than eight weeks in 531276856  theaters in France.
